Integration is the problem, NOT bundling
Most of us do not care what is "bundled" with the OS CDs. Linux CDs (and OS/2 Warp, for that matter, until IBM finally stopped selling it at retail last December) have multiple equivalent applications on the distribution CDs. The installer selects only those that he/she wishes to install. These are examples of "Bundled" software.

Microsoft, OTOH does NOT "Bundle". They "Integrate" the application into the OS in such a manner that it can not be ignored when making the installation.

In addition, both in the past and currently, Microsoft has and does enter into anti competitive contracts that impede the sale of the software of other vendors. This is a direct violation of the anti trust laws of this country.

All of the available evidence indicates to me that those who claim the DoJ and the Bush administration have been bought are correct. Unfortunately, there is NO viable alternative. The judge who upheld the Microsoft sales plan offered as a "Settlement" is a Democrat.
