Phishing can be stopped in its tracks
Let's take the case of the ID thief in this episode. In my grass-roots movement concept that consumers should have control over their names and personal data, even with the AOL data, the phisher would not have succeeded. Why? Because the individual maintains all last rights approvals over any use of their private information, virtually eliminating future breaches.

There is only one way to protect the use of consumers? names and personal data. Pass federal legislation to give the individual control over their name and private information, and, while we?re at it, pay them for its use. You can read about it in my blog, The Dunning Letter at: http://www.thedunningletter.blogspot.com.
