I don't consider asking "Why is this distinction important?" and making the statement "Conceptually they're very similar." to be jumping down your throat. If you consider this to be jumping down your throat than you've demonstrated that you're incapable of holding a rational discussion.

Re: "I simply corrected him."

I consider your statement of "Here's a crowbar to pull your foot out of your mouth, Lovie." to be more than "simply" correcting him. This statement is meant to antagonize him. Another example of your inability to hold a rational discussion.
