Get the facts straight.
This article refers to a flaw in a JAVASCRIPT interpreter. Not Java the actual programming language. No 'REAL' damage could be done to a system be it Linux or Windows using Javascript... Be it a UTF script or not, there's just no room in the Linux architecture for it. Furthermore KDE is a window-manager, and unless your 'killer' javascript can login as the superuser. No real damage can be done to a properly setup Linux system. Due to the fact that KDE is not actually part of the operating system.

Overall, this article seems like a Microsoft-sponsored article. Furthermore 'Loverock Davidson' how much does Microsoft pay you to post these quippy little one-liners? If you've decided to post negative comments about Linux, then fine. Just be sure to back your posts with some real technical information. Because I, as a computer technician have actually seen a Javascript change registry entries on a Windows XP system turning off that users antivirus, firewall, and spyware scanner (all of which were McAffee), as well as open a back door for hackers to get into his system. Furthermore I can also guarantee, that unless you've locked out pretty much all functionality in Windows. You still have flaws as your user account still has administrative (superuser) powers. Which, can actually be exploited by an Internet-born script; due to the fact that Windows Explorer is your primary interface with your system. Additionally in Windows architecture, Windows explorer uses the same software engine as Internet Explorer, and thus possesses the SAME PRIVILEDGES AS YOUR USER ACCOUNT. Thus it is actually easy to break a Windows system.

You know I can appreciate a person really enjoying their system. However it isn't appropriate for you to attack Linux without providing some real facts to explain your position... Also, for as much as you've tried slamming Linux; you don't seem to realize the impact an increase in Linux on the Desktop will have on your favorite OS... If Linux gains in market share, that means Microsoft has to lower their prices to stay competitive. So either you really haven't thought about it, or perhaps you really are being paid off by Microsoft.
