easier than that, let me break it down
n00b has linux installed and boots into kde. they click on the firefox icon and BAM! not affected. konq is like the windows explorer in that it is the filesystem browser and a web browser. you can do the same with moz/ff but i really never thought about using konq to browse the web. *shrugs*
