Russian Mob has many friends

The Russian Mob has many friends, including many in the banking community. In this case, they probably arranged for the money to be paid to a Swiss bank account. The Swiss will deny access to the information for years while the Russian mob gets away with many more blackmail jobs.

Another method might be for the money to go through many legitimate fronts before it even gets to Russia. Each front takes time to research, subpeona documnets, and find the next destination for the money. All this buys time for the perpitrators. Once the money is in Russia, you'll never get any information about who got the money or where it went.

No, the Russian Mob is very smart and in their case, crime does pay quite well. Do not underestimate these people. They are NOT dumb criminals like you see on the news. These people are incredibly smart.

I have several friends that spent time in Russia over the past few years. The mob is quite pervasive with their fingers in just about everything. They have friends in the Russian Government and sometimes they are the Govt Officials. Many of the Gangs have popular support in their towns.

This makes the Russian Mob problem a difficult nut to crack.
