Huh?: I havent heard of any Linux boxes being used in this fashion. But I have heard of allot of Windows boxes.
Mostly due to the fact that Windows users dont know how unsafe there computers are and never take care to secure them. Plus add in the fact that there are so many. Makes them a tempting target.
