using my wireless ap as a reference point...
i scanned it on 64bit wep and 256bit wep and the results are amazing. i ran kismet to scan for packets on a laptop running suse 9.2, downloaded a 1G file on a pc (winxp sp2) connected wirelessly (to generate a bunch of packets).

the first test at 64bit took less than 5 minutes to crack with aircrack (kismet logs packets which contain the key encrypted, airsnort compares each encrypted key trying to guess the correct key and the key is in the packet header if i remember right, its been a while since i did this). generally, aircrack will present you with 10 possible keys and usually its one of the top 4. it said that key #1 was a 100% match. i only scanned the 64bit network for about 10 minutes with kismet collecting packets.

256bit scan, i couldnt get a key from the 10 minute scan. after an hour of trying to crack with aircrack, i gave up, restarted the download and scanned it for the entire download. 1G over a 1.5M dsl i think was about 2 hours, give or take a bit. i brought the laptop in to work the next day and let it crack for the full 9 hours. (it was on during the 1 hour lunch) and i still didnt have half of one possible key out of 10.

so i would think that most wardrivers might skip some of the higher encrypted networks unless they really wanted into that particular network or just keep driving til they find an open network a couple houses farther down anystreet in anytown, usa.
