I agree that notification of this type of thing should have been
made prior to installation.

However, it is possible to turn it off and Apple today stated that
any information that is amassed is used only to provide
suggestions on other music the listener might be interested in.
After that, all the data is discarded. I, for one, tend to believe
them if only because what the heck would anyone use that data
for? If someone wants to know what music I have, all they have
to do is ask; I'll be happy to list all the Who/Who Solo disks I
own. Wanna borrow them? Only kidding, RIAA.

And John Entwistle was the greatest bass player of all time.
