Norton protected files
It seems most of the posters here don't understand the Norton protected recycle bin. It's not exactly the same as the Windows recycle bin. The Windows recycle bin does not save files deleted from a command line. It doesn't save files created and deleted by Windows applications. It doesn't save older versions of files you overwrite. The Norton protected recycle bin does save files deleted under those conditions.
That said, if you don't want to use it, just disable it (right click the Norton Protected Recycle Bin and then click properties. Click on the "Norton Protection" tab and then uncheck the "Enable Protection" check box for each hard drive on your system.
