I have a question for you... in all seriousness too...
I have a client with Windows XP Professional, he is on DSL behind a NAT router/firewall.

He prefers to use Netscape 8.0 and web based e-mail.

Problem is this:

He is running AVG, but it cannot update via the internet, connection is refused.
Netscape cannot connect to the internet, connection is refused.
Windows update will allow a scan but then errors out with no reason, but a link to a useless help page.
Internet Explorer will connect to the internet but I cannot access any Web mail at all, I tried Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Earthlink Web Mail and Red Shift Web Mail all gave me as error page.

WinXP Pro says the eth0 connection is fine, I can see data transmitted and received. I can ping IP addresses and names no problem. But IE is limited as to where it can go, Netscape will not connect and no other internet connecting software can either.

I have already tried to disable ALL firewalls and security to no avail. This is rather ironic in that I am actually stumped! I did run a complete scan for Trojans, Virus and corrupted files. System returns all clean.

Any ideas?

PS: Even my Windows guy is stumped on this one!
