I am an Internet Voter
I am a Democratic Michigan voter. I am also disabled. I am also a Computer Engineer who specializes error tracking. I am ESTATIC that I could vote online.

The Democratic Michigan Voting on-line was as simple and secure as you could make it. There was quite a bit of private information that you could only enter by getting one of the mailed information codes set only to you personally. They then asked you for some verification information that you set up separately when you made your account.

I prefer internet voting to absentee ballot voting. At least with the internet I am sure that my vote was received on time. An absentee ballot could arrive long after the vote occured.

Why are people so afraid of the internet? It has given people like me (with a severe disability) a greater chance to be part of the outside world.

People who do and don't have computers can still vote in the normal ways. I don't see how this descriminates against the poor or the technologically challenged. It just gives more options.

If you are afraid of fixed votes, well they are most likely to occur in local elections. When I lived in California, it was well known that the dead made up a significant portion of the San Francisco vote. There were also cases of candidates bussing bums to a voting location and telling them who to vote for.

Even given that I am going to take my right to vote and use it.
