Here's the versioning scoop...

"If you have previously installed an earlier version of Ilfak's WMF patch you do not need to update to any later versions. Every version of the patch works as well as any others. Ilfak has simply been extending the patch's platform compatibility (adding Windows 2000 and various service pack support) and adding features for silent administrative deployment in corporations. But the first version works as well as anything since."

Apparently, nothing broken. The multiple versions are due to support being added for additional Windows and SP combinations, plus installer support. Furthermore, if SANS has vetted and approved this patch, you can rest assured - they are some of the top security people in the world, after all. So stop the FUD, please.
