Ilfak Guilfanov saves the day
I cannot fathom why anyone would wait to install the official MS patch, it will be just as effective as Ilfak's patch.
I have read that some image caching software will run the exploit as soon as it is downloaded (meaning you don't have to view it at all) so the potential for infection is really high.

Anyone with an inkling of security conscienceness will see this man as a hero, since his patch diffuses the cause of infection. Kudos!
