My Question....
It isn't listed in the MS WMF Exploit Security Patch FAQ either...

The Question!

Do we (is it absolutely safe to do so?), re-register the shimgvw.dll (after applying the patch to XP SP2), that we unregistered as an MS suggested workaround earlier???? This would re-apply pic thumbs, but is it safe to do so (was it fully tested), if patched w/ the (possibly leaked, but I know that I used Win Updates to receive and apply the patch to 100 or more machines from last Thursday to this Monday), MS Patch released before the 10th.? Is that the leaked patch of which the article actually speaks?

MS confuses their users and the techs that work on their stupid swiss cheese OS's. Is this a "You Need Vista as soon as we release it" MS Trick?

Why isn't a patch avail. now or won't be in the future for the other half of my Dual Boot XP/98SE setup if the exploit also is present in 98SE? Go ahead MS, tell me to upgrade...I will too, but the Icon on the package it comes w/ will be a Penguin instead of an MS flag.

If I didn't make my living working on, troubleshooting, cleaning, and building MS PC boxes...I'd already be there.

Sheesh!
