Early Release?
You're absolutely right, Microsoft just might make an early release available. However, not because of the urgency of a needed patch, but because of all the publicity surrounding this.

IF it so happens that a large number of machines do in fact get exploited before the normal patch cycle of every second Tuesday of the month, then it provides ammo for all the naysayers to say "I told you so!" Microsoft doesn't want to be in that position.
