Losing a customer due to hacks is not good either.
I understand what you are saying, but MS is teetering on p*ssing off every customer they have. IT folks are fed up with the constant and non-effective patching.

I remember being at a show a year ago with Bill Gates on stage *bragging* about how Vista still runs DOS applications and I thought to myself how sad that was. Do I understand it? Sure I do, but it is going to come down to either upgrading the software to run on a new OS without legacy support or living with the constant threat of hacks. IT folks are figuring that out even if MS won't admit it.

By the way, I am testing Office 12 on WinXP SP2 and it STILL needs to elevate to admin privilages for certain things. Sigh... NO application should EVER elevate user privilages, PERIOD!!! It shouldn't even be possible!!!
