MS management needs slapped on this one.
This is wrong on so many levels it's hard to pick one to start with. How about this? If Micrposoft is "smart" enough to put patchs on a schedule, what makes them think hackers can't?

Two Hackers: Should we release the hack today Bubba, huh, should we? No you silly geek, wait until the day they release patches and then we have an entire month for our hack to work.

The other issue in my mind is this thing about it's good for the corporations/companies/IT departments to do a monthly release. Ok, I can understand that, but what about the 10's of millions of Joe Six pack users? Why are they being brushed to the side in this? In fact according to my readin git is people that surf the net, going to unknown sites that is most likely to be infected. Ummm, who does the most web surfing???

MS, you tried something (scheduled release) to see how well it worked. The results speak for themselves and it's time to rethink the problem again, pronto! After all, everyone knows that if you keep doing the samethings, you keep geting the same results.

IF a person was of a questioning nature, they might ask is this the way to increase adoption of the soon to be released AV software you've been talking about. Paid folks are updated and protected ASAP and regular users get updated once a month? Sure makes me wonder...
