- Confusion reigns at Marriott Vacation Club

As a Marriott Vacation Club Owner I was concerned that our personal data might be included in the security breach. Since we received NO notices via email or snail mail, I decided we should check for ourselves. Following Marriotts instructions found on their news release webpage, I emailed them. I waited almost 24 hours with no response so, I decided to call the phone number listed. After a long wait, the young man who helped me checked under our name and tried various name and zip code variations. He then said to rest assured that we were not on the lost tapes.
Imagine my surprise when I finally got an email a few hours later telling me that our credit data was, in fact, included in the breach! Marriott has sent press releases out saying that they have notified their customers. Do not assume that you are not included in the security breach if you have not received a letter--regardless of what they say.
