Why Bother with Tape?
A corporation the size of a Marriott should just be replicating disk-to-disk to another Marriott data center and skip the obsolete tape stuff altogether along with the "Oops, I left those tapes out by the trash and now they're on eBay" nonsense. If you think that's expensive - newsflash - tape has been more expensive and less reliable than disk for several years now, especially if you calculate all the labor and supporting infrastructure required.
