Still need the sender
Say we can automatically shut down the sites that get click-thrus from spam. Now suppose I sell Brand Y and I want to cut down on the competition. All I'd have to do is get a spammer to send out links to Brand X's site to shut it down. Sound farfetched? I think we've had enough experience to know hordes would abuse this kind of control as well. Shut down sites benefiting from spam? Yes, but there better be a reasonable level of verification.
