Holy ****!! Over!!
>>"Okay, then how about when we do actually "get" some of these guys, and they go to prison, let's put 'em in with the general population so they have the opportunity see what prison life is all about. And let's make sure we find ALL of their ill-gotten gains so they have to wear Goodwill clothes rather than still being able to somehow afford tailored suits when they get out."

>I'm all for recouping any ill-gotten assets. Putting them in with drug dealers and murderers, though, is not right. Thieves they may be, and on a large scale, but white-collar criminals aren't generally physically dangerous to anyone, but would be in serious danger themselves from those thugs.

What drugs are you on buddy? These guys wipe out entire families, without a care in the world. They will screw anyone and everyone they can. They gain FAR MORE than your average street thug, have far more power (hire and fire hundreds of people) and can screw with economies, peoples savings/investments, and any number of other things. Obviously, you have never had an investment get wiped out by insider trading. How may elderly have their savings wiped out only to die in the streets? Putting them in with the guys that are going to "do them up the rear" would be a far better deterent. After ten or twenty end up getting cornholed and the crap kicked out of them, you might find that a few more are less likely to do it.

But then again, those states with the death penalty are also the same states with the increasing crime rates... So a deterent it may not be, but I see no reason these guys should be in a country club until they come out. They should be treated the same as everyone else. Let them taste prison and REALLY pay for the crimes they commit!
