M$ uses Akamai as their web-hosting solution. Apparently M$ is smarter than the Windows users.

OK, that's not fair. I'm comparing network server farms to Joe Sixpack Desktops.

But getting a computer with Win Doze on it would only be a _real_ choice if other things were *widely* offered to the public. As it is if you want to actually choose something else you need to know enough to do so before you buy or just pay for the OS and then wipe it out and install what you want. You (unintentionally, I'm sure) pointed out that most folks don't. Where, for example, would one buy a new computer with FreeBSD pre-installed? Vendors are out there, but can you name more than one without going to the website?

What? No, not Apple. I said WIDELY available. Apple couldn't supply even 20% of the current demand for new computers. Maybe in 5 years...
