'Finally, any president, according to FISA, is allowed to wiretap anyone without a court order.... As long as within 72 hours of the wiretapping, they submit documentation to the courts.'

1) courts move slowly - all of them do. Keep that in mind.

2) the government can't act upon the information gathered until FISA says so - given the idea that if the NSA learns about a terrorist attack in 4 hours, how long do you think it would take FISA to approve action?

But hey, glad to know you'd rather support the 'rights' of terrorists in the country than the right of the president to gather information on them specifically.

Read my blog - read exactly Gorelick said regarding the presidents INHERENT right to gather intelligence.

Also, my logic wasn't faulty - at no point did I attempt to excuse Bush. I was merely pointing out the hypocracy of the previous poster who attacked Bush because of it without attacking the former presidents who did it as well.

I remember the Eschelon scandal coming up - at no point do I remember anyone attacking Clinton - everyone focused on the intelligence agencies. If one was not truely biased, we would have seen the same thing - attacks against the NSA instead of Bush.

But we didn't - did we?
