- So how much are your annual licensing fees?
-
That's a sh*t load of CALs for an airport. On average, how many people visit the airport that have laptops, cell phones, hand held devices, or anything that would connect and utilize Windows services?
A very conservative few thousand a day. 365 days a year. So 730,000 CALs, by $40 a license, that's almost $30 million a year in licensing fees. That's annual.
So I would imagine that using a Sun Enterprise server is the smart thing to do, even if the clients are Windows XP.
I'm still baffled by people who use Windows Server in large corporate environments. Yeah, the Terminal Client is nice, but the yearly CALs destroy any savings you could have possibly made by using thin clients. - Posted by: olePigeon Posted on: 12/16/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
