Sorry but gotta disagree...
A properly configured SuSE 10 box will run right up there with WinXP for speed. Once the first one is done mirror the rest. Simple, that includes security settings.

I am a Linux advocate and user. And when the need for Windows is called upon, I use 2000 Pro. Don't like XP, never have never will. I like the clean simple interface that Win2K starts with. And for the majority of users out there IF Windows is needed (which really now a days it's not, but that is to be determined on a case by case basis) then Win2K is more than adequate for the average SMB and MMB.

Win2K is clean, light and reliable. XP to me is a fat bloated clutered pig of a system with way to many problems. Granted 2K has it's issues, but in either case NAT router / firewall with solid local security policy is all that is needed.

But my preference is SuSE 10 or the new DesktopBSD (which I am still playing with to learn more about it...) And for most SMB and MMB SuSE 10 can fit the need just fine.
