Had Problem With Security Icon
This message has come at an appropriate time for me. While ordering some items from a web site, I checked both the certificate and the URL to make sure it had the https. Both checked out fine. However, the little padlock was open and had a line through it, indicating a non-secure site.

I called the company to order, just to be safe, and told them of the problem. They said the site was secure but the icon needed to be updated.

This article has validated the problem I encountered. It is not only frustrating, but had I not taken the extra time to check into it, the company might have lost a sale. I imagine a lot of people simply move on to another site if they see the unlocked padlock.

Wish people would get their act together....
