Own your medical records! what a concept.

a huge lesson learned from Katrina is all the medical records which are forever lost.

i belong to medicalert, but their info is sketchy. they have my 11 meds and medical conditions on file, hopefully the ER would be smart enough to look me up first.

med info should be standardized: bloodwork results, current Rx's, medical conditions (there already codes for those).

i think this would save a huge amount of money for the 'skyrocketing' health care costs, just in admin costs alone, let alone lawsuits from misprescribed drugs...

however, i hope this doesn't turn out like the credit report companies, where I have to pay to see a copy of my own credit rating (what is wrong with that picture???)
