Not a relevant example ...
War plans and national security secrets are not written into law, even secret ones, nor do they need to be. Congress is quite capable of writing a public law that delegates the necessary authority to the appropriate governmental entity. For instance, the law states that the President must accept Secret Service protection. Does public knowledge of that law endanger the President? Besides, we have laws against disclosure of secret information; the laws themselves are not secret. Why would the details of a law that requires identification on air lines have to be kept secret? How do we know that the law is really what the Federal government claims?

The notion of a secret law, that any one of us could be breaking at any time without knowing it and that could subject us to arrest at any time, is terrifying.
