Id does not matter .... we are all stupid!
I am not amused by the so called "terrorist aerobics" that our government is imposing on the citizens and others.
Having been in a war, I was always alert for what the "supposed enemy" was doing rather than "WHO" they were.
I am appalled at the lack of professional knowledge that our government imposes on people inside and outside the borders.
I feel that all these laws and other exercises are merely "make work" projects to give the appearance that something is being done to protect us and our property, when in fact, these exercises do NOTHING and nothing has been accomplished since 9/11.
It is a shame to see grandmothers robbed of there knitting needles on a cross country flight and others robbed of their nail clippers and other grooming devices.
What will the supposed terrorist do --- cuticle the people to death???
Come on, these laws and harassment must be made to stop and persons with proper training put in place!
Terrorists have characteristics and although it may not be politically correct, they usually are not grandmothers, although they are treated as such, the same way that a southern Californian with a beard and mid eastern dress, must be ignored, because that person may be offended if they look the part and are questioned because they fit a profile. Come On are we really that stupid to think that the Bush Administration really knows what they are doing? In fact, would any other administration know what they were doing???
Not in this day of hiring people merely to meet quotas, regardless of qualifications and not in this day that everyone is responsible for others, but not themselves, and no one will take responsibility for making decisions and letting someone know --- especially the people which are supposed to be "SERVED" by the government, not the other way around.
We have technology to detect explosives and metal and if everyone was required to walk through the sensor area, it would surely impede most of the threat.
We have some people who are just plain crazy, like the last one that got shot a day or so ago. NO weapon, just crazy shouting he had a bomb!
Did he not get screened at the gate??? Yet the air Marshall feared for his life???? Give me a break, are all those detectors worthless???
What are we to do when even trained individuals do not believe their own tests???
We are all in deep KA KA.
