.rpm files and running them
Hmmm. Only an IDIOT would ever install an .rpm file with the name FREE_DANCING_ELVES.rpm and NOT expect it to be a maliciously crafted payload. What a dummy anyone would be to actually go and install such a stupidly named application on their Linux box. Mr. NonZealot is obviously a troll that is looking for someone to bait, and is just knowledgeable enough to know some Linux commands, and how to install. Obviously if you don't KNOW or TRUST the place you get a package from, just DON'T install it in the first place. That's one of the reasons most archives have keys in place to make sure that the archives stay free of such things. All the files in the repository are subject to inspection by everyone that comes along and if someone were to try such a sucky thing, the file would never make it past the repository doorway, let alone on to a working system. Linux users are more intelligent than that, and wouldn't just ASSUME that an .rpm file would be trustworthy. Go away, TROLL, and look someplace else for someone to flame or try to fool.
