Waste of money
---We would be better off with a National Identity system that
would be strong enough to prevent illegals, terrorists, and spies
form utilizing or domestic systems for transport.---

Wow, what an incredible waste of money, and a system ripe for
abuse.

Once again--knowing someone's identity is not all that
important in security. Knowing their intentions is. Having an ID,
which would inevitably be faked, does you no good.

Oh, and what do you plan to do for every foreign visitor to the
US? How are tourists going to get on their plane to go home?
