- As one of the 30K other people...

...I can tell you that while the TSA does eventually let me on a plane, I have been advised to show up at the airport three hours before any flight, instead of the two hours they recommended when they first put all this mess in place. That applies equally to travelling home, so it really shortens up the usable time on the last day of a business trip, since you have to leave the office about four hours before the flight.
Also, while I always get on a plane eventually, I end up spending so much time in line, unable to use self check-in, and often having to wati for a TSA supervisor to come over and initial some secret form (which I never get to read...they take it away to file somewhere), that I frequently miss planes and end up on a later flight, which might be the next morning or so. That, in turn, means that if you really want to get home from a trip, you cannot afford the risk of booking on the last flight of the day. And if you need to meet with a client or someone, you need to schedule the meetings for a couple of hours after you expect to arrive. Put it all together and on the average you burn another whole day on each business trip.
I sometimes wonder whther the goal of some of these programs (along with the primary goal of frightening us into submission with the constant threat of an invisible boogeymen) isn't to just irritate people so much that the unstable ones, or the ones who don't blindly support the current administration, will 'out' themselves by complaining about the program. So, TSA, here's my letter. I'm sure that if you can figure out how to get an extra 30k incorrect names on the list, that you'll have the technical expertise to track me back to my secret lair here at my desk at work...Bwahahahahah!!! - Posted by: gardoglee Posted on: 12/07/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
