It is not the driver's responsibility to build a safe car. It is the user's responsibility to DEMAND a safe and secure computing environment, they shouldn't have to create it. Besides it already exists so it is really the user's responsibility to USE a safe and secure computing environment, like say, Mac OS X, or Linux, for example....
