I agree...
...with this statement:

"If Microsoft, and half the other major software companies in the world, would focus on perfecting their product lines before trying to add the next hundred extra features in time to meet a marketing deadline, problems like this would become few and far between"

...but people don't want perfection. They want features. This isn't limited to the proprietary software market either. Even in open source world, the pursuit of features usually trumps the pursuit of security.
