Well, Jellyclock2, you seem to profess a solution to the Windows exploitation holes - just switch to MAC or Linux. See my other post about cost prohibitions on that switch - it applies to MAC also...but a switch to MAC involves an additional $2000 per computer for hardware replacement. Nor does switching to MAC eliminate phishing, trojan and virus exploit and damage possibility - they're still out there and ready to do your system in. Yes, MAC, SUN, Linux and even Big Blue are all subject to trojan, virus and phishing exploits.

And basically it comes down to whichever system you have opted to use for your business is the one you are economically bound to continue using because the cost of the O/S to switch is the tip of the iceberg. The cost of software runs $5-10K per computer, the cost of hardware runs from $1.5-2.5 K per computer, and the overtime for your staff to make the switch - or added payroll for a small business to bring in an outside networking specialist - could almost double that expense.

Before you go off half-cocked with "switch to this its safer" stop and think about the realities of what you propose. then come up with $15 K per work station and switch your first. When you do that, then come back and preach at the rest of us. Windy - email me at windy@uniserve.com
