Monopolies, homogeny, and fascists have one thing in common:
Their greed, eventual sloppiness, and paranoia gets them in the end.

Let's face it: Relying on solely one brand creates big problems. While the benefits are obvious (you can share with anybody, just as long as I don't enable DRM or other 'trusted computing' initiatives), the problems and the potential for them are far worse. It's their way or no way, and no way means you can't even live.

I thought even the most mundane end-user would have fathomed this by now. Hmmm. Guess not.

Life is what we make of it. So when a windows user gripes about problems, why bother? They'll keep doing the same stupid thing again and again and still think that the current situation is good enough.

The solution is appallingly simple: Different platforms. Of course, we had this in the late 1980s and people whined it wasn't simple enough to use and share data with. (which is the same problem I hear just as often today...)
