The original vision for the Internet being open to the public was certainly bsed on noble ideals. Unfortunately only honest people will stay honest. Those same anonymous protocols and IDs that are used to sound the voice of oppression are also used by those who want to enforce their deviant will on the rest of us.

I find it annoying also that some feel it is their 'duty' to share software flaws and security holes in such an open forum. I mean who goes out in public and tells everyone the faults of their spouse or children--if you do, perhaps that is the reason you are on wife no. 3 and your children hate you.

This is not a naive outlook, even if the release of the security issue is meant to inform others, why inform the unscrupulous people as well? Maybe it's a 15 minutes of fame complex or something.
