- I don't know about now but
- Colin Powel was the General Officer in Charge of the Information Systems Command before he became the Chairman of the JCS. He forced the military to standardize on windows for pc's and low level servers and Unix for the mid range and IBM for the general purpose mainframes. That was just the routine side of computing the specialty stuff is just that usually one off systems running just about anything.
