Cyberterror 'overhyped,' security guru says

Still too much focus on Cyberterror

Yes, a terrorist with stolen credit cards could put them to malicious use, but focusing on cybercrime would make it more difficult for both the terrorists and the financially-motivated criminals. Thus cybercrime initiatives meet both needs, while cyberterror ones stress many unlikely scenarios at the expense of all-to-common ones. I've got friends and family who have been victims of electronic theft. I know no-one personally who is a victim of cyberterror, and I am hard pushed to think of examples in the news. If tax money is going to be spent on IT security (which it should IMHO),I know which focus I'd most like to see.
