Detailed Analysis of Rootkits
A lot of media analysis only gives a cursoy look at what a rootkit really is. However, those descriptions liken them to contemporary malware, something that's devious, but not so devious that regular tools won't protect from. The reason Sony is getting away with this deed is because the prosecuting powers don't understand just how insidious a rootkit is.
