Your solution

Two ways, IF you want to keep MS, scrub your disk. Install W2KPro (you can get a license on the net for $30 - $40). Dump Norton, no great loss it's now 3rd ot maybe 5th in effectiveness. Get DefenderPro or AVG (AVG is free) for a av. Get an old copy of Media player.

Second way (more work, more pain, more learning, MUCH bigger payoff) Find a distro of Unix (linux, BSD, etc) that you can get a handle on. Dump MS totally and start over. Harder but probably the best solution.
