- Where's my music? licenses, Media Player after reinstall
-
Forgive me if this is old and boring to many, but I've gotten a real wake-up call in terms of my Media Player, and Music Files.I just had my computer os reinstalled. Guess too much toxic junk from using Limewire, and not having SP2 on my computer. I elected to uninstall SP2 cuz after I did, the 'puter constantly froze up on me. On this site, I learned it was probably due to conflicts with Norton Internet Sec Pro. Took it out, and never another problem.
Obviously I'm not a geek, but not completely a dummy either. I however, have found all my music, formerly downloaded to my hard drive from CD's I'd purchased are now not playing on the Media Player due to licensing issues. The screen says the music can be played on 4 computers (?)only, and that I've ripped some of the tracks 10 times (which is untrue).
It's finally coming to me, what all the discussion comes down to...who owns the music once purchased. Am I now gonna be limited from making a compilation for my car, office, sister, friend in Zanzibar, because I downloaded this new version of Media Player that's got all these new rules? Does this mean if my laptop crashes again, I can't play certain music on it because that would be more than the limit the rules say I can be infected by viruses and have to reinstall my os,(cuz they count a reinstall as another computer)?
Can someone have mercy on me, and explain,AND tell me what to do to regain my freedom. My plan at this point is not to play any music on the computer, but buy a system w/CD player/burner and use that. Is that a good solution? - Posted by: Kendahsi Posted on: 11/15/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
