- Its The Blogs... They Want To Shut Them Up Also
-
The Bloggers have brought this to light. The "Regular" "News" won't do much to upset advertisers. This has been the case for years.
There is a movement going on right now to shut down, and shut up, all the bloggers. Lyons had an article on this about a few weeks ago "Attack of the Blogs" or something like that in Forbes... Yet the Blogs outed Enron 2 years before there were issue, brought the Sony Root Kit to light, Foretold that something was amiss at HealthSouth in 1999,
When the DMCA was passed there was an outcry from a minority of people in the know that it would be used to lock out users of minority OS from media "Linux, Mac, and other *Nix variants" then came CSS with no official(Legal) Unix/Linux DVD players, Encryption would be used to lock out non copyrighted works then came the Skylink then latter Lexmark printer cases, Security researchers would be prevented from doing research then Felton was shut down, that copyright holders would use DRM to make copyright not expire and then the 321 Studio case ruling came down which says that DRM can not be circumvented even if the encrypted material is public domain, thatcopyright holders would use DRM to block current legal uses of work then DRM is being developed to destroy legal uses like second hand markets/other current legal uses, and the list keeps going and going (As the what proponets said the "Doomsday sky is falling" oposition said would happen).
What is worse is the RIAA/MPAA/BSA are all pushing tougher and tougher laws which ban more and more technology. About a week ago they presented to congress legislation that would Ban content creation devices that worked with more than 32,000 pixels unless they were for "profesional uses" and would require protection on analog inputs. This week the Bush administration proposed legislation that would make it a law to attempt to violate copyright (This is vauge and the wording in the proposal is vauge)- both bills if they become law would seriously impact current uses of materials and make criminals out of otherwise law abiding citizens for doing things which currently are legal. The only ones really reporting on this is the bloggers- as the "Traditonal" journalist are towing the official lines.
The truth is that the *AA's are out of control. They want to make it so only "profesionals', memebers of their orginizations, can create fully functional materials, Only they can distribute works, and the consumer will have to pay them everytime they use (Read Play, Run, or Read) in any manner their works (This includes pausing TV or time-shifting your favorite shows). The Traditional media is bought out so they try to shut down the bloggers who are reporting that yes... this is their goal. - Posted by: Edward Meyers Posted on: 11/12/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
