Antivirus firms target Sony copy protection

Down with Symantec, yay CA!

I've not been a big fan of CA in the past, but they have the correct tack on this one. I don't want to be relegated to Sony's "fix" that doesn't totally remove the rootkit and restore the system to pristine condition. People buy anti-virus products to do the full job, and expect complete removal. How Symantec can reason that "cooperative effort" is needed is beyond me: there's just no excuse for a rootkit, and removal is the only acceptable resolution from an AV software provider.
