I see dead people
I to see people with no AV or expired AV and no protection what so ever. It's great that PC's are so accessible, but I think PCs sold at Target and Walmart really need to carry a booklet for those that are uninformed to talk about the virus and spyware risks. At least then we can turn around and say "Well, did you read the book?"

Way too often people have no clue about safe practices, that the preinstalled Nortons doesn't work if it's not activated, or that the preinstalled Nortons expires in three months, and that was 2 years ago, that they have 20 viri and keyloggers running, etc. I usually have to remove everything and install 3 antispyware apps and either McCaffe from their ISP or AVG Antivirus. Oh, and of course all the Windows Updates since SP1. At this point I almost always have a couple CDs handy so I don't have to waste time downloading everything.

I will say MS AntiSpyware is one of the apps I install most. While I haven't found an antispyware app that catches everything, MSAS does catch a good amount, and is one of the few free antispyware apps that will run in the background to prevent spyware installation and also lets you schedule scans and updates.
