It's like saying the death penalty discourages psychopathic axe murderers
These are not, I suggest, particularly sane and rational people. There is no genius, gone into the development of this particular worm. The makers of this code do not sit in some vast shiny cavern surrounded by men with machine guns, waiting for James Bond to turn up. To put it bluntly, these people are not "Kernel hacker material". None of these guys has written a Opto 22 SNAP I/O module recently... They won't be doing anything about Centrino support at any time in the near future... In short, they are not very useful people. They appear to want to make it look like they have something to do with the GNU/Linux project, but what use would GNU/Linux have for them?

None.

Think about it. How much would one of these guys prefer to be worth: NOTHING, or $250K?
