Mozilla was only partially affected ...
Even with earlier versions of the Mozilla, it wasn't much of a bug.

First, I don't think adding the user name to a URL was ever officially a standard with HTML. It was more of a convention. So I don't understand why this single bug seems like a big deal.

Second, if you follow a link for something like "http://fakesite.com@realsite.com", that is how it should display in the browser. I don't consider it a bug because that is how it is supposed to work.

In IE, if you add a special hex "end of line" character before the "@" ... the URL displays as "http://fakesite.com". Mozilla never worked this way on the location bar. However, on some platforms, the status bar would display much like IE. Therefore, earlier versions of Mozilla had sort-of the same bug ... but not quite as bad as IE because it only displayed incorrectly in the status.

You should be fine with 1.5 ... and the bug is so obscure, I wouldn't worry about it with IE anyways. There are worse ones that MS should be addressing first.

I am using Mozilla 1.6 now.
