Code Wars with MIT

I began using computers simply by working out the bugs of the software the company I worked for had just purchased...took months just to get the internal network to really function.

That was back when the hard drive disk was about the size of a LP phonograph record, and was stored in a case that looked like a huge Alkaseltzer tablet. After hours some boys from MIT would dial us up and we would have some fun exploring computer functional anomalies through code wars. I earned by handle that way in 1980.

Today, me and my tiger team still do code wars. Each of us has a small network with other team members at the terminals...three teams against each other...sort of like playing Counter Strike. What keeps this activity legal is that we each has a signed and notarized "get out of jail fee card" that has everyone's signatures on them, including our IP's. We do stay away from DoS and virii attack...our IPS's wouldn't like that much.

The results of this all goes into our participation in research in information warfare that is used by the Dept of Defense in the war on terrorism...thus hacking saves lives, those of our soldiers since information operations is involved in most military operations today.
