The laws are flawed...

US laws concerning hacking are not based upon reality. Thus they are wrong...just like the law that required Africa-Americans to sit at the back of the bus.

The reality is that we cannot enter your computers...we ring the door bell and your computer spews forth data that you would rather keep private. Computers are configured by default to be cyber-sluts who "put out" to everyone who rings their bells (ports).

Keeping private data private is like living in a glass house and calling the cops if we are walking down the street and see everything in your house from the sidewalk. Again, we never entered your house to steal anything from you.

Hackers are explorers and experimenters in cyberspace. Computers are logic based, yet there are numerous anomolys where the compter doesn't follow the programmed logic..."hey, that shouldn't happen" and we try to find out why it happens. We do a lot of "what if" research.

Question: If the US passed a national law that prohibited the drinking of fruit juice, would you stop? To be sure, I would continue drinking fruit juice - even if I had to squeeze my own.
